Very clever, nice to see even the big guys at IKEA are choosing to use the Joomla and Virtuemart platforms for the big jobs. Maybe they can show us more than just simply good furniture design after all!

The default layout of VirtueMart is too ugly, how come Ikea didn't revamp from the default settings ?

Or is it too difficult to revamp the default design ? I think VirtueMart should enhance the default layout with ideas from the following shopping carts. The 1st impression to people is very important.

1.) demo.opencart.com
2.) demo.tomatocart.com
3.) prestashop.com/demo

Honestly, if not intending to integrate with Joomla, I'd never consider VirtueMart after seeing the demo front-end on this site, not appealing at all, a few customers just rejected it No choice, 1st impression is king.

We are using Virtuemart for many of our custom developments. We are converted from osCommerce to Virtuemart, and I am quite happy with except its availability in multiple languages and SEO.

I've just stumbled across this blog and found it very interesting. We use Virtuemart for some of our e-commerce sites and it's a great and flexible system. I'm glad to see a big company like ikea use it too!

...it has the same non-working "Send to friend" feature as all other VirtueMart-installations I've seen (click on the link)

(Yes, both email addresses are as valid as the smell of my farts)

It also has dozens of bugs all over the place, the same which I've seen in every VirtueMart installation I've had to deal with:

- Everything is misaligned, cut off, or otherwise ugly
- The "Suggest product to a friend" feature doesn't work (always returns "Sending failed", see link)
- The "Return to product" link on the "Ask a question about this product" success page doesn't work ("Product not found")
- The "Search" results page has all the mysterious "Categories", "Sections", "News Feeds" etc. checkboxes from the default install
- The URLs are ugly
- The "Save" button on the cart page doesn't do anything

I like IKEA and their products, but I'm doubtful that using an Open Horst CMS for their Kuwaiti Site will be good publicity for them.

i tired to install com_virtuemart.2.0.6a_ext_aio.tar, but i got an error msg as "Error! Could not find an XML setup file in the package". So how to fix this issue. Can any have solutions for this
