Thanks for your excellent product. I enthusiastically upgraded a site to 1.1.5 today and immediately I get a "This Connection is Untrusted" message when trying to access the domain but I have no SSL certificate. Could you advise what to do? - Barry Ferrier

HOTstuFF, first you don't HAVE to use the new PayPal system. You can go on using the old payment method.

Regarding your issue, you are the third person who report it, BUT WE NEED MORE INFO! It appears to happen only on specific hosting environment, we are not able to reproduce it. Can you give us Joomla version, PHP version, operating system version? - Francesco Abeni

VM 1.1.x and PHP 5.3

PHP 5.3 full compatibility (notice removal) was not on the list for 1.1.6, but if you can help us by sending a full list of pages / functions to change, maybe we can have a look at it.
Use the VM dev/coding forum. Thank you! - Francesco Abeni

Will VirtueMart be 100% compatible with PHP 5.3+ ?

Hi all,

I'm very glad tu use VirtueMart but I've got just one question: when will VirtueMart be fully compatible with PHP 5.3+? Will it be done with the 1.1.6 release?

In the code of the 1.1.5 release, there is still "ereg()" family functions that is now deprecated since PHP 5.3.0. On some servers on which we can't change the verbose level this generates some PHP warnings.

By the way, thanx for your nice job and may VirtueMart have a long life!

Regards,
Johan

Hi,

Many many congratulation to VirtueMart Team. I am yet to test out the new version. Hope VM 1.1.5 will also support the custom themes designed based on VM 1.1.4

I can already see some changes due to new PayPal module. So we are going update all our custom themes for VM 1.1.5

Hey K0nan,

That's great to hear!

Looking forward to the alpha version!

Depending on the framework, we also need to adapt our extension :).

Will 1.5 include support for hack-free 3rd party extensions?

We have managed in our new extension release to make ours hack-free, after endless hour of work which resulted in an integration plugin. However, it would be really nice to see native support for extensions.

Warmest regards to you and the VM team! - Manolache Emilian

thanks!

VM 1.1.5 is a mantainance release, some bugs needs to be solved in the next 1.1.6 release.

VM will be ported into MVC framework in the 1.5 version which is under big development and of which we'll release some insights soon :) a stable alpha is near to come :) - k0nan

Hey there and congratulations!

It's been almost a year since the last release. As we've seen in the forums, some of VM users got really anxious and wondering if VirtueMart is still being developed and moved forward.

Glad to see VM's team has finally finished the development cycle of 1.1.5, and has shown its eager community that VM is going forward, dominating the Joomla! e-commerce components market.

As many of us know, the next big step for VM is to go MVC. We're also aware how big an endeavor such a transition is. We're in the same process ourselves with our extension (VM Affiliate), finishing the latest touches. Yet, once this is properly accomplished, and proper structure is given to the component, new features can be implemented way easier.

So, congratulations on this achievement, and looking forward to the MVC VirtueMart.

Warmest regards! - Emilian Manolache
