Short note on Project History: VirtueMart is the successor of mambo-phpShop. mambo-phpShop was the first port of phpShop to Mambo. phpShop was developed by Edikon Corp. and the phpShop community - http://www.phpshop.org. Mambo was forked to a new Project called "Joomla!" in 2005. In the same Year mambo-phpShop was renamed to "VirtueMart".
