VirtueMart - Open Source eCommerce Software

The VirtueMart Team is proud to announce the release of VirtueMart 1.1.0 Stable. The VirtueMart Team and the VirtueMart Community have put many hours into this release of the VirtueMart eCommerce Solution. Thanks to all those who have donated their time and skills to make VirtueMart a leading eCommerce solution that is both full featured and easy to use (see the full feature list).

Packages

VirtueMart 1.1.0 supports Joomla! (1.5 and 1.0.x) and Mambo. Separate installation packages are available for Joomla! 1.5 and Joomla! 1.0.x/Mambo.

There are also manual installation packages available for those who need them (for both Joomla! 1.5 and Joomla! 1.0/Mambo).

Upgrading

Although VirtueMart 1.1.0 has many new features, we have made the upgrade process from VirtueMart 1.0.15 as easy as possible. The upgrade process requires the manual installation package. See the full upgrade details.

New Features

You will find many new features in VirtueMart 1.1.0, from AJAX-enabled administration and add-to-cart to a new, clean administration interface and themes for styling your customers' shopping experience. Additionally, VirtueMart 1.1.0 supports Joomla! 1.5 natively. Here is a brief list of new features:

The VirtueMart Project websites have a new look! Thanks to Casey for his design work giving the VirtueMart Project websites a clean, professional look.

Along with this release, we have reorganized the VirtueMart forum. Thanks to Peter and Roland for handling the forum reogranization. If you have questions, comments, feedback, or need support for VirtueMart 1.1, visit the forum. I just wanted to send my thanks to the Virtuemart team. Great work Soeren, Gregdev, Aravot, Jenkinhill, Pisu and all involved. I love the last minute touches to the back end. I was very happy to see the semi-obscure search problem I complained about was completely fixed!

been playing with 1.1beta for months and its fabulous but payment module integration has been altered and has caused a lot of problems. sofar i have a great looking test site but no way of taking payment for 2 of my clients websites.BIG problem

Hy,

thanks for this great improvement to virtuemart 1.0x. There are really major improvements (themes for example).
But this release has still very many problems, especially if you want to write your own theme, wich is kind of difficult a task to do... I've seen simpler template systems.
I'd really like to see Virtuemart evolve in the next release. It is such a great tool for joomla, but some of the code isn't seperated at all, there are many things mixed up.

Keep on getting better!
