In the past each VirtueMart Release was accompanied by a customized, full Joomla! Distribution including VirtueMart. To continue with this Tradition, we have prepared a Joomla! 1.5.3 Package bundled with VirtueMart 1.1.0. The Installation is the same as with a "normal" Joomla! 1.5 Package.
The default template in this bundle is "JA Purity", the Winner Template of the Joomla! 1.5 Template Contest, which is not included in the official Joomla! Distribution.
This Distribution also includes the latest Version of the Joomla Content Editor (JCE) 1.5.0 RC2 (which is based on TinyMCE 3).
Get it now from the official Download Page!

Just tried this package and at first I was totally in love with the new Joomla! And virtuemart is sweet, however since my server is running php 4.3.something.. . I can't use the import/export component. The lack of the import/export makes it kind of useless..
So my question: Is it possible to "turn off" virtuemart in the e-commerce bundle? As I "disabled" it through the installer/compo nent feature, it probably disabled, but gone was all the other sample content as well (layout and all). Hope somebody here might know a thing or two about this.. thanks!

eCommerce/Virtuemart is server side web application that is supposed to be run on a webserver.
There are instructions on how to do this on this site but it is NOT easy for avarage computer user.
First you need to have the server. (Usually called LAMP)
Seconde you need to move the downloaded files to the server.
Third you need to install the files using your web browser.
There are companies that do this for you (I have one
Hope this helps you and others who are wondering about this stuff.
