I'm pleased to announce the release of VirtueMart 1.0.5. You can download the latest version from our downloads section. The Joomla eCommerce Edition including the latest VirtueMart release has been updated too. For your convinience you'll find Patch Packages for updating your existing version of VirtueMart.
What has changed?
A lot of bugs have been fixed! A big thank you goes out to everyone who has reported a bug and maybe posted a quick solution for it! You can find a detailled list of al changes in the ChangeLog at the end of this article.Some smaller changes have been made to the length of some decimal fields, so they can hold bigger values. So the database structure has not changed, but just the length of some field types has changed. That means if you don't run the queries or forget it, nothing "bad" will happen.
You have modified a lot of files and now you think "updating is not a good idea"? Well, why don't you merge your changes and the new files using a program like WinMerge? It allows you to compare files and shows you what has changed. So you can easily take your changes into the updated file version.
Just in case you're getting a "Fatal Error..." after having updated...in most cases it is an old file that couldn't be overwritten by your ftp program. So make sure you have really updated all files! The easiest way to apply the patch is to upload it into your Joomla root directory and unpack it directly on the server using the joomlaXplorer.
