VirtueMart - Open Source eCommerce Software

VirtueMart 2.0 beta3 released Print E-mail

Only a few days after the beta2 release, we decided to bring out a new beta again. Our release earlier this week contained too many issues for many people to test properly.

Of course this release is still not bugfree, have a look at our issueslist to see what bugs we are still working on. This beta contains no new features compared to beta2.

Joomla! 1.6 support

This is still a big issue. This release installs properly in Joomla! 1.6 (including the All-In-One module), but not everything has been tested in 1.6. We know there are many issues there, including the language strings, that will be solved in beta4. Also, the plugins doen't work yet, but nevertheless much of the functionality can be tested. Please report all issues you find in our forum.
Don't forget to tell us which Joomla! and PHP versions you are using!

Roadmap

A new roadmap will be made in the following weeks based upon the feedback we get on this release. We expect the next beta around the end of March.

Download

You can download the new release as a Joomla component install kit. The All-In-One module is available as a Joomla Module install kit:

Thanks to all of you for your feedback!

Great work, tested in joomla 1.6. The allinone modules and plugins also work. Waiting on the mod_virtuemart_categories, it's the only show stopper for me to finally get working on new desings with joomla 1.6 and virtumart 2. Is somebody working on this module? I could make it and submit it here...

Porting the categories module is one of the open tasks on our list.

nultzdev: VM for Joomla 1.6
There are still too many bugs with J1.6. Not surprised if you have troubles for another 6 months with getting things to run in it. A basic template I build for J1.6 still not 100% functional as expected even after following their guidelines.

keep up the good work we love VM!!!

Daustin: Downloadable products folder structure.
When downloadable products is implemented can it have a folder structure allowing sites with lots of downloadable products to be better organised in the back end? smilies/smiley.gif

Hi there, I know it's a silly question but do you have a rough estimation on when a stable version of 2.x will be released? I am considering adding e-Commerce functionality and I'd really like to do it using VirtueMart but my website has already been set up using Joomla 1.6, so I am considering my options and how long I can postpone this.

Thanks!!

April; we should bring out beta-4 around now, but we decided to delay that with approx 2 weeks.
It's hard to say when the final version comes out; it highly depends on the results of beta-4 and the RC1 that should follow after that.
2.0 stable will be released when 2.0 is stable smilies/wink.gif My guess now would be, in 2 months

Guillermo Caballero: suggestions http://acacel.com
Hi I have some suggestions.
1 create a template editor virtuemart Manager
2 posivilidad to select multiple products and add a single click, not one by one
3 posivilidad to upload video to the details page instead of the main image (ie it is optional)
4 Add to google map the address of the client
5 add or posivilidad billing area to raise the customer's bill and sends it automatically

from there on out the component and is ready to use, I think it's great the changes have been made
warm greetings from mexico

Hi guys, thank you for a wonderfull product. Please can you implement a services section? I sell services, downloads and hardware. Services dont need shipping and you have not allowed an option to skip shipping for services.
