The new VirtueMart 2 Version is now in the last testing phase.

We are very sure that we could release this on Friday, but Max Milbers is going to the joomla day UK in London http://www.joomladayuk2011.org/, so we plan to release the final 2.0.0 shortly after his return.

The version G is already completely working and can be tested for production use. Dev site

In the last two weeks VirtueMart hits 4000 commits, which is some man-years, which has now been committed to VirtueMart project.

We have worked very hard and proudly present a new free and very flexible ecommerce platform, created with the knowledge of the big VirtueMart community. http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=85643.0

Reme: Def Not Ready
Great work so far guys, but ready for production sites its definitely not.

Missing a few key things, the media manager in admin was not working, cannot upload videos and add to cart just took you tot he cart page without adding a product and also never had its own dedicated page. Was just sitting within the main content area on index.php with a number of errors.

I also had problems with media manager in admin area.

You should also add better description in tooltips for media paths, I think it's not self-explanatory what paths user should enter in these fields.

pabloo: problem here as well
I also faced some issues as simple as during check out, i register, and when i save, the system tells me that i must fill up the email, which i can not see in the form.
So the system blocks registration but does not show the field.

Although i really applause the work behind VM and enjoy using it. This version does not seem ready for production.
I'd be very careful to use this version on a live shop.

The 'look and feel' of virtuemart 2 has been improved most. Well done but....
Why is there no invoice administration??? It is so dissapointing! You really missed a chance here!

Hey guys just wondering if the 2.0 version here http://dev.virtuemart.net/proj...mart/files will work with joomla 1.7. I need to set up a simple online payment (Name, age, category etc) but need to use VirtueMart as I have to integrate Realex.

markf: VM2 and Joom 1.7? http://www.mynextkitchen.com
So, is VM2 not compatible with Joomla 1.7? I have tried. It installs ok but I cannot save any changes such as entering configs, adding new categories, products, nothing.

We are eager waiting for the official release of VM 2.0. I have already tested the Virtuemart 1.9.8.RC2G and it appears to be ready for its first release for production sites. Joomla day UK 2011 is also over. When can we expect the final release?

Best wishes,
Das

Max Medeiros: Some news? http://www.ogue.com.br
Hi guys. I know it's not easy to fill the expectation of all, but would be nice if you just update us with some news. We see wasn't possible to release 2.0 version yet, but silence is not a nice way to tell us that. Some of us (like me) are comming to site every day to check. What happend? Can we wait more or is better if we give up?

Thanks.

Reason8910: Need the new MVC structure http://www.yds.com.au
I am so looking forward to be able to template VM2 with the new MVC structure but, I am still having problems with VM2 in Joomla 1.7. There are a lot of missing language strings and instalation also gave me a lot of problems, mainly with the paymant and shipping plugins. I also wanted to voice my concern at the way the media images are handeled, its very confusing to add images to a product currenlty.

Weezle: Patience, patience
Guys, if you would follow SVN tracker you would see that there are a lot of bugs squashed on daily basis, so obviously VM2 is not stable (yet).

The team is working really hard and they will deliver great product. You just have to be patient. Remember, it's an open source project with limited resources.

BrutalE: Patience!!
I am really excited about 2.0 too, but I am certain the delay is for our own good. If they release it with bugs and errors, everyone pressing for a release will be complaining that they released it with problems. There will be issues, but minor ones, but getting your tighties in a wad will only get you more anxious. I have to imagine there are other aspects of a website that Can be honed to perfection so that plugging in VM2 will make your site ready to roll.

SPyKER: Help instead of complaining!
How about instead of waiting for someone to do all the work, and complaining about it taking longer than expected, you just jump in, stand up a site, test it, report *NEW* bugs (after making sure they are new), and possibly contributing a few patches?

And if you aren't willing to do so for an FREE OPEN SOURCE product, just sit patiently and wait.

[edit: Exactly, thanks SPyKER. People sitting on their ass, waiting, and moaning around are just barefaced]
