Good job! I'm testing VM2.0 from yesterday and from the webdesigner point of view everything is cool but before I'll recommend to my customers an upgrade to VirtueMart 2.0 I will wait till most of possible bugs will be detected and fixed. I think that this version should to be more mature for production stores.

Any way, VM 2.0 is cool - a lot better than an older versions. Big THANK YOU and Congratulations to all members of the development team.

Thanks!

VMHopeful: Embarrassing Release
There are a lot of people congratulating and saying thank you, clearly have not downloaded it yet. This release is a terrible embarrassment for the VM team who were once the most reliable.

VM2 is missing listed features, it should still be alpha now, beta once all the features are implemented and move to an RC when 99% of the bugs are gone.

Go on, donwload it; Press ctrl+f and search for 'todo' >_>

Not to mention trying to use basic functionality such as stockable children brings up missing strings, php errors and the front end display code is commented out by default as its not finished.

This is a RELEASE??

Well done all. It's a shame you had to put up with all the nagging, your community was just anxious and unsure what was going on. You guys didn't do a brilliant job of keeping the comunity informed, but after all you were putting your spare time into a free product and I think I speak for us all when I say now that its here, and we can get some of the projects that have been waiting underway, we are all very very thankfull.

Dev team, and contributers, you can be very very proud. Congrats.

Theglove: Not ready
I just finished implementing this solution for a client after working with it from 1.9.8 and updating as you released up to 2.0. Finally after updating to the final 2.0 I handed the shop off for the clients to start adding products.

They were suprised to find that they couldn't stock variants or display child products at all, I attempted (embarrassingly) to show them how to do that only to find that this final release is a long way from final. The store is utterly useless to them; to me and to anyone who needs to sell sized or varied items.

Alexe: This is not a stable release
First of all you guys are doing a great job with the new version of Virtuemart for Joomla 1.7 but i have to agree with some of the comments already posted on this page. Virtuemart 2.0.0 is not a stable release and still has a alot of bugs / issues which need fixing before it can be used on a live production website.

I know you are under a lot of pressure to release this to the community but i think you should have release this as an RC4 release and asked the community to test and provide feedback.

Anyway keep up the great work you are doing.

Joomla! SEO: Backend looks horrible http://seoj.info
I just installed Virtuemart 2.0 and find the backend totally non-joomla looking, confusing, looking user unfriendly and ugly.

I have no idea why, but the VM developers always wanted to reinvent the wheel when speaking about user interface.

Hi,

Well done on the new release. It looks excellent. I just wanted to find out what the situation is with all of the supported payment modules.

Over here in OZ we use PayMate quite heavily and it would be good if this was supported into the new version? Any ideas on how to go about implementing Paymate with V2?

Thanks.

Thorsten22264: Virtuemart... Bad.. :(((
Ok my review for the try to change from xtcmodified to virtuemart..
virtuemart features: no downloadable products, no quantity discount, no invoices, no way to price searching portals, no way to affiliate portals, no compatibility to joomla 2.5, no import/export function for other shopsystems, no wishlist function, no automaticaly change to reseller group if a reseller registers, no no no .... Is the new motto of Virtuemart Back to the roots?? Realy important things that work year old shopsoftware is NOT working in virtuemart.. For shops who want to be modern and comfortable to customers there is realy no way to use virtuemart.. Bad, but we changed back to xtcmodified. This shop can everything do you want to. And its GPL and for free too.
Virtuemart: That was realy the right way.
